Job summary

The British Museum in London seeks a Lead 3D Designer to drive the creative and technical delivery of narrative-driven exhibitions, gallery projects, and public space interventions. Hybrid work with on-site presence in Bloomsbury, London, offers a chance to influence the museum's transformation while shaping in-house design standards.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, translate curatorial ambition into engaging visitor experiences, and mentor colleagues to foster a collaborative studio

Qualifications

• You are an experienced and highly creative exhibition designer, architect or spatial designer whose portfolio shows narrative-driven visitor experiences.
• Demonstrates ability to lead high-profile projects from concept to completion with design judgment and stakeholder engagement.
• Shows commitment to delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of exhibitions, galleries and public space projects from concept to completion.
• Create engaging spatial experiences that bring complex stories and collections to life.
• Direct project teams, consultants and contractors to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
• Produce and oversee high quality design documentation including illustrations and technical drawings.
• Champion sustainable design practices and contribute to studio standards.
• Mentor junior designers and foster an ambitious, collaborative studio culture.
