Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an LE3 Overhead Line Technician to join our Power T&D team in Scotland. This site-based role involves installing, building, refurbishing and maintaining high-voltage overhead lines up to 400kV, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You will join an experienced OHL team, perform earthing, piloting and jointing tasks, and work across the UK as needed. The role requires height access, good teamwork, and a full driving licence.

Qualifications

• LE3-level overhead line (OHL) skills and experience required.
• Strong commitment to health and safety and quality standards.
• Confident working at height and in demanding environments.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Full, clean driving licence is essential.
• Flexibility to travel and work across the UK; relevant authorisations are advantageous.

Responsibilities

About The Role

We're hiring: LE3 Overhead Line Technician.

Balfour Beatty Power T&D is looking for an experienced LE3 Overhead Line Technician to join our team and support the continued growth of our projects across Scotland.

In this site-based role, you will help install, build, refurbish and maintain high-voltage overhead power transmission lines up to 400kV, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.

What you'll be doing

• Installing, building and refurbishing overhead power lines
• Supporting activities such as earthing, piloting, conductor running, clamping, jumpering, spacering and jointing
• Following site-specific risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
• Using PPE, tools, lifting equipment and fall-arrest systems correctly
• Working collaboratively as part of an experienced OHL team
• Maintaining high standards of site safety and promptly reporting incidents and near misses

Who we're looking for

• LE3-level OHL skills and experience
• A strong commitment to health and safety
• Confidence working at height and in high-pressure environments
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A full, clean driving licence
• Flexibility to travel and work across the UK
• OHL authorisations, plant tickets and an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification would be advantageous.
