Job summary

Kemp Recruitment in Cheltenham is seeking an LCV Technician to join a well established automotive workshop. The role offers a stable, full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule and a salary up to £40,000 plus a monthly bonus.

You’ll be part of a DVSA-approved garage performing MOTs, servicing and diagnostics for local and national customers. The successful candidate will work on light commercial vehicles up to 3.5t, using modern diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification (Level 4 welcomed).
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair experience.
• Experience with cars and vans.
• MOT Tester qualification (preferred but not essential).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle inspections to identify faults and repair requirements.
• Perform routine servicing and maintenance, including brakes, tyres, and oil changes.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• MOT preparation and testing of class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles.
• MOT repairs and rectification work.
• Technical diagnostics and use of diagnostic equipment.
• Cambelts & Clutch jobs.
• Repair or replace vehicle components using hand and power tools.
• Complete accurate job records and documentation.

Salary: upto £40,000 basic + bonus (circa £100 per month)
Hours: Monday-Friday 8.00am-5.30pm (45 hrs)

The Role as an LCV Technician

As a Vehicle Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles. You'll work in a well-equipped workshop, using modern diagnostic equipment and tools, while maintaining excellent safety and quality standards. You will be working on an internal fleet of small vans to 3.5t Lutons with tail lifts, retail and commercial work to include all makes / models of cars and vans
