Job Description

The Layout Engineer is part of the team responsible for constructing two EPRs, providing engineering support for plant design.

The main activities include:

  1. Assessing if site requests impact layout
  2. Evaluating and listing impacts of site changes on all disciplines and contractors
  3. Creating 3D models, managing installation tolerances, and drafting introduction notes
  4. Liaising with disciplines such as HVAC, Piping, Equipment, and Electrical as needed
  5. Collaborating with the NNB Construction Team and installation contractors
  6. Initiating change processes to implement impacts
  7. Reporting progress, achievements, and challenges to the Layout Team Lead, and raising alerts when necessary
  8. Contributing to resolving design open points after package delivery to site
  9. Anticipating and flagging technical issues
  10. Participating in JDO-DT Layout team meetings and sharing technical insights
  11. Managing modifications requested by engineering teams, contractors, and clients

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification with several years of experience
  • Experience in nuclear projects
  • Proficiency with 3D design software such as Navisworks
  • Experience with 3D model visualization for layout analysis
  • Understanding of general layout rules
  • Knowledge of nuclear power station operations and safety aspects (nuclear safety, flooding, fire, radiological protection, high energy line ruptures, etc.)
