A leading law firm is seeking an experienced social care lawyer for a temporary contract in North East England. The role involves providing legal advice on adult and children's services and representing the council in court. Candidates must be qualified solicitors or barristers with relevant experience handling social care cases.
LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in the North-East of England, for an experienced social care lawyer to join them on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month contract.
You will provide high quality legal advice within Adult Services and Children’s Services on applications to the Court of Protection and on relevant legislation including mental health, mental capacity and the Care Act. You will also undertake advocacy, representing the council before courts and tribunals.
Previous UK local government experience is desirable. Ability to attend court regularly in the North-East of England is essential.

The salary for this role is £40-£60/hour umbrella, depending on experience.
