Your new company

The LegalServices team plays a vital role in supporting the Council's strategic goals,ensuring legal compliance, and enabling effective decision-making across a widerange of public service areas.


Your new role
You will manage a diverse caseload under the supervision of a Principal Lawyer. You'llprovide legal advice, support senior colleagues, and represent the Council inlegal matters. This is a transitional role ideal for those with legaltraining-such as internationally qualified lawyers or legal graduates-who areworking towards full qualification in England and Wales. You'll gain experiencein areas such as housing, adult social care, education, planning, and more,while developing your legal expertise in a supportive and collaborativeenvironment.


What you'll need to succeed
To thrive inthis role, you'll need

  • A UK law degree or equivalent internationalqualification
  • Eligibility for or completion of the SQE orQualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme
  • Experience working in a legal office, ideally withinlocal governments or public sector environments
  • Strong legal drafting, research, and communicationskills
  • The ability to manage your own caseload and workindependently with some supervision
