Job description

Hays are delighted to be working with one of our public sector clients to recruit for a lawyer to join their dynamic Law and Governance team and help them deliver high-quality legal services that protect my clients' interests and support the local community.


As a People Team Lawyer, you'll provide expert legal advice and representation on matters relating to adult social care, education, mental health, and no recourse to public funds. You'll work closely with internal departments and external partners, including schools, tribunals, and health trusts, to ensure legal compliance and robust governance.You'll manage a varied and complex caseload, represent my client in court and tribunals, as well as contribute to policy development. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence key decisions and support the delivery of vital public services.
In order to be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (Fellow) with:

  • Strong knowledge of administrative law.
  • Expertise in adult social care, education, or mental health law.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to legal problem-solving.
  • Experience working in a busy legal environment, ideally within the public sector.
