An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join Derby City Council’s legal team.
Candidates should have qualified as a solicitor, barrister or legal executive and possess recent, relevant experience in all aspects of contract law, have a commercial outlook in their work and a good knowledge of procurement (particularly the Procurement Act 2023), coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running.
The role involves:
• negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide variety of contract documents
• advising upon a range of related non-contentious contract, commercial and procurement issues
• providing support to a variety of corporate procurement activities
• reviewing and advising on terms issued within formal tender processes
