The RoleWe are currently looking for a Lawyer to join our Clinical Negligence team and take on a busy case load. The case load will be varied and will include mid-high value/complex claims with a mix of litigated and non-litigated cases.
The type of work you and the team will deal with includes birth injuries, surgical errors, hospital negligence, cosmetic surgery, dental negligence, mental health care, care home negligence, misdiagnosis and late diagnosis, GP negligence and wrong prescription claims.
THE WORK:
The work carried out by our Clinical Negligence team has included:
- Achieving a seven-figure sum in compensation in a complex and serious claim involving misdiagnosis where a client's arm had to be amputated as a result, leaving the client with significant symptoms which had a significant impact on his life.
- Achieving a six-figure sum in compensation in a claim for a client who suffered wound infection for five years caused by an infected mesh.
- Achieving a six-figure sum in compensation in a claim for a client who due to surgical error developed a significant infection from coronary artery bypass surgery.
What experience do I need?We are looking for a Clinical Negligence lawyer with around 2-4 years experience, who has experience of seeing a case through to trial or settlement post exchange of expert evidence. You should have an established record of exceptional client care and be comfortable in understanding clients' needs and dealing with often sensitive injury issues.
Candidates with personal injury experience (but little or no Clinical Negligence experience) including litigation experience may be considered. However, salary level will be commensurate to the amount and level of experience relevant to Clinical Negligence.

Who will I be working with?Jason Brady, Partner and Head of the Clinical Negligence & Serious Injury Team will be your supervisor and you will work closely with the other fee earners in the team. You will also have support from the team's trainee; the team's cost lawyer; the team's paralegals; and the support of the team's secretary and administration assistant.
