Job description

Ferrovial Construction is looking to appoint a Lawyer to join its legal team in the UK.

The successful candidate will serve as the dedicated legal resource for Ferrovial Construction’s work at Heathrow Airport and its civils business. The primary focus is to safeguard the company's interests through effective contract creation and management. This role is part of a small UK legal team working closely with the group head office in Madrid.

The position is based mainly in London and is ideal for a construction lawyer eager to collaborate closely with project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project leadership to identify and evaluate legal risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Provide proactive advice to project teams on issues related to main project contracts, supply chain documents, third-party obligations, and commercial objectives.
  • Support procurement in drafting and negotiating supply chain contracts.
  • Assist in preventing and managing claims and disputes, including working with external counsel when necessary.
  • Undertake reporting and governance duties.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned with teams.
  • Engage external counsel as required.
Skills and Competencies
  • Junior to mid-level construction lawyer.
  • Solicitor of England and Wales, or qualified in a comparable common law jurisdiction.
  • Experience with NEC contracts or construction projects (desirable).
  • Flexible, able to multitask.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Motivated, analytical, professional.
  • Experience in an international organization (desirable).
  • Willing to work from London and Heathrow, with occasional travel to project sites.
