About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Law Practitioner to join our academic team at University Centre. At University Centre Leeds we offer industry-driven foundation degrees and full undergraduate programmes, providing students with high-quality higher education in professional and vocational fields while maintaining strong links with local employers.

The Areas Of Teaching Will Be

  • Criminal law and Public Law and Human Rights at level 4
  • Business Law at level 5
  • Criminal Litigation and Dissertation at level 6
  • Involvement with Access to HE Law programme.

Please note the salary advertised is inclusive of a £2000 per annum market supplement which will be reviewed annually.

What You Will Do

  • You will play a key role in delivering dynamic and engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops across a range of legal subjects.
  • You will contribute to the ongoing development and innovation of the curriculum, ensuring course content remains current and relevant.
  • Supporting students through academic mentoring, guidance, and supervision will be a key aspect of your role.
  • You will also collaborate closely with academic colleagues and professional services teams to enhance the overall student experience.
  • Additionally, you will be expected to engage in scholarly activity, research, or professional development to maintain and enrich your subject expertise.
  • Your real-world legal experience will bring valuable insights into our programmes and help prepare the next generation of legal professionals.

About You

  • A qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with substantial professional experience.
  • A postgraduate qualification in law or legal practice (PGDip, LLM, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A passion for education, student development, and legal practice.
  • Previous experience in teaching, mentoring or coaching in an academic or professional training setting (desirable but not essential).
