Job summary

Runwood Homes, established in 1987 and a leading provider of residential care, dementia care, and nursing care services across 55 homes in the UK, is seeking a Laundry Assistant. You will be part of the support services team, handling laundry for residents and the home with care and respect, while following health and safety standards.

You should stay proactive, flexible and a great team player, with a willingness to learn through internal, external, and e-training programs.

• Ensure laundry for residents and the care home is completed in a safe, timely manner.
• Operate washing machines, dryers and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.

Job description

As a Laundry Assistant, you will be a member of the support services team. Your main Laundry Assistant responsibilities will be to ensure the laundry of residents and general care home is completed in a professional and timely manner. This includes using washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently as well as neatly folding, hanging, or preparing clean laundry for redistribution. Your daily tasks as a Laundry Assistant include keeping the laundry area clean, tidy and organised as well as following health and safety standards to avoid contamination and accidents.

We are looking for a skilled Laundry Assistant who can confidently maintain high standards of work whilst handling resident belongings with care and respect. You should be able to organise and prioritise your tasks effectively. It's important for our Laundry Assistants to be proactive, flexible, and a great team player. We also value a willingness to learn and grow, as you will need to participate in training activities to enhance your skills and knowledge for a safe and efficient performance in your role.
