Akari Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated Laundry Assistant to join their award-winning care home. The role involves ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all laundry processes, providing personalized attention to residents' clothing, and maintaining a clean and well-organized laundry environment.

Main duties of the job

As a Laundry Assistant, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the laundry services within the care home. This includes carefully handling residents' personal items, performing minor repairs, and ensuring the laundry room is always clean and well-maintained. You will work collaboratively with the Housekeeper and the wider domestic team to deliver a personalized and compassionate service to the residents, respecting their individual religious and cultural backgrounds.

We seek an additional Laundry Assistant who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of older people.

Working with the Housekeeper and the domestic team, you will ensure the smooth, efficient operation of all laundry processes. This includes handling residents' laundry with care, performing minor repairs on clothing, and respecting individual and cultural needs. You will continually assess residents' laundry requirements and provide personalized attention as needed. You will also ensure the laundry room remains clean and well-maintained, and share your knowledge with colleagues to uphold high standards.

While performing practical duties in a busy care home laundry environment, it is essential to be mindful of and sensitive to residents' religious and cultural backgrounds, ensuring they feel they receive a personalized service.
