Job summary

Amberley Hall Care Home is seeking a Laundry Assistant to deliver a high-quality laundry service for residents. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you will manage washing, drying and ironing of personal clothing and linens with care and attention to infection control policies.

The role is 19 hours per week on a rota basis, offering a competitive hourly rate of £12.71 and the chance to train on-site. We value compassionate, customer-focused team players who communicate well with residents,

Qualifications

• Full training will be provided; prior experience is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure washing, drying and ironing for residents' clothing and linens are done with care.
• Liaise with Head Housekeeper and relatives for replacements or repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with care team to ensure clean linen supply and proper infection control handling.
• Ensure laundry equipment is cleaned and maintained per policy.

About The Role

Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the Laundry Assistant is responsible for providing an efficient laundry service in line with the residents’ choice around the laundry service they wish to receive.

Salary

£12.71 per hour.

Shift Patterns

19 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.

Home Location

Baldock Drive, King's Lynn, England, PE30 3DQ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure that all washing, drying and ironing for residents’ personal clothing and linens are completed with the utmost care.
• Liaise with Head Housekeeper and relatives if clothing needs to be replaced or needs major repairs.
• Liaise with the Head Housekeeper and the care team to ensure that sufficient clean linen is available, and soiled linen is handled in line with infection control policy and dealt with efficiently.
• Ensure that the laundry equipment is routinely cleaned and maintained in line with policy.

Training, Skills & Experience Required

• Experience in a similar position is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided.
• A passion for care – we’re looking for a genuinely caring individual who will put the needs of our residents first.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as high attention to detail.
