Later Living - Service Manager

Interview date - 4 th September.

We are looking for someone to oversee a team delivering housing and services to older and vulnerable customers across the Midlands. Own transport will be key to support and oversee your region. There will be some limited involvement in the out of hours rota.

You will oversee a small team of approx. 5 - 8 staff: Handy people and Relief Scheme Officers. You will need to manage and support them to ensure service delivery levels are maintained, and customer expectations are exceeded.

You will be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the region.

What you'll achieve

  • Manage, motivate and support staff over a region, ensure performance targets and budgets are met.
  • Respond and manage complex issues to ensure a speedy resolution and satisfactory outcome for all.
  • Work with wider leadership team to embed a positive can-do' culture.
  • Work across the business to deal with queries round Service Charge, major works and repairs, providing advice and guidance to colleagues.
  • Work with the Area Manager on improving best practice, embed a continuous improvement culture with all staff.
  • Drive and improve customer engagement across the schemes.

What you'll bring

Essential skills

  • Experience or understanding of delivering housing services to older and vulnerable customers.
  • Own transport and driving licence.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing continuous improvement projects.
  • Background in problem solving - experience of managing complex issues to resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with internal and external teams and engage well with all customers.

Desirable skills

  • Experience of managing a remote team to deliver a great service to all customers.
  • Experience of leading on a process change / improvement.
  • Co-ordinating and planning team-based training.
