Job description

Latent Defects Claims Technician - Remote Working, United Kingdom

This is a desktop claims handling role. We are seeking an individual to undertake claims handling tasks on Latent Defects claims, managed on a cradle-to-grave basis by our LDI Surveyors and Loss Adjusters. Training on Latent Defects Insurance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the technical handling of cradle-to-grave Latent Defects claims.
  2. Support the Surveyor/Loss Adjuster owning the claim by undertaking tasks such as issuing coverage decisions, assisting policyholders with settlement arrangements, organizing payments, and producing simple reports.
  3. Maintain the claims system with full details to meet client requirements and ensure accurate MI and Bordereaux.
  4. Instruct external experts/suppliers, including specialists for Cause identification, solicitors for coverage opinions, and contractors.
  5. Manage and maintain the diary system for each claim.
  6. This is a fee-earning role with associated targets.
  7. Participate in continuous improvement of the Latent Defects team and support other parts of Charles Taylor as needed.
  8. Assist with marketing efforts, including developing client relationships, identifying new clients, supporting marketing activities, preparing presentations, and hosting social events.
Required Skills
  • An experienced Surveyor or Engineer, preferably with insurance claims experience. Alternatively, a Loss Adjuster or Claims Professional with relevant background.
  • Professional qualifications in Insurance, Loss Adjusting, Surveying, or Engineering are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Highly motivated, independent professionals.
