Job summary

Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering, part of the Aerospace division, is seeking a skilled CNC operator for the machine shop. You will set and operate Laser, Mazak, and other CNC lathes to produce aerospace components in line with technical instructions.

The role requires reading technical data sheets, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Flexible shifts, punctuality, and teamwork are essential as you support production targets and quality standards in a clean, high‑tech

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK is required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and data sheets.
• High attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Team player with reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to work flexible shift patterns and overtime when needed.
• Laser operator experience (Trumpf) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and complete production route cards, SOPs and data sheets accurately.
• Set and operate laser equipment.
• Learn to operate Mazak and CNC machines to cover workloads and absence.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow Safety + 5S methods in the work area.
• Conduct quality inspections of samples using gauges and measurement tools.
• Follow Company values and demonstrate Safety, Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Excellence and Customer Focus.
• Follow Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and wear PPE as required.
• Complete training and apply learning in operations.
• Fulfill reasonable requests from management.

Job Description

Role Purpose

The role is part of the team in the Machine shop who operate Laser, Mazak & XYZ CNC lathes to support the production of Aerospace components ensuring they conform to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately interpret and complete production route cards (Technical Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Data Sheets).
• Setting and operating Lasers.
• Learn to operate Mazak and CNC machines to provide cover for work volumes and absence
• Maintain good housekeeping standards of the work area implementing Safety + 5 S methods (Sort, Set, Standardise, Shine, Sustain)
• Quality inspection of samples to ensure they conform with required size of gauges using measuring equipment
• Work in line with the Company Values (Safety, Accountability, Respect & Trust, Integrity, Excellence, Customer Focus) and demonstrate the associated behaviours in your daily work
• Consistently follow Health, Safety & Environmental procedures, including wearing the required personal protective equipment provided
• Complete training as required and apply the learning in performing operations to
• Perform all reasonable requests made by management.
