Job summary

Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering, part of the Senior group, seeks a skilled operator for its machine shop to support the production of aerospace components. You will operate Laser, Mazak and XYZ CNC lathes to ensure parts meet customer specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role requires reading technical instructions, precision work, and flexibility to cover shifts. Strong teamwork and adherence to company values are essential, with training provided on site.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret technical documentation, visual aids and data sheets.
• High attention to detail and manual dexterity required.
• Team player with flexibility to work overtime when needed.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with safety focus.
• Flexible in working hours to cover variable shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and complete production route cards and data sheets.
• Set up and operate Laser systems.
• Learn to operate Mazak and CNC machines to cover workload and absences.
• Maintain housekeeping and apply Safety + 5S principles.
• Inspect samples for gauge conformity using measuring equipment.
• Follow Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and wear PPE.
• Complete required training and apply learning to operations.
• Respond to reasonable requests from management.

Job Description

Role Purpose

The role is part of the team in the Machine shop who operate Laser, Mazak & XYZ CNC lathes to support the production of Aerospace components ensuring they conform to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately interpret and complete production route cards (Technical Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Data Sheets).
• Setting and operating Lasers.
• Learn to operate Mazakand CNC machines to provide cover for work volumes and absence
• Maintain good housekeeping standards of the work area implementing Safety + 5 S methods (Sort, Set, Standardise, Shine, Sustain)
• Quality inspection of samples to ensure they conform with required size of gauges using measuring equipment
• Work in line with the Company Values (Safety, Accountability, Respect & Trust, Integrity, Excellence, Customer Focus) and demonstrate the associated behaviours in your daily work
• Consistently follow Health, Safety & Environmental procedures, including wearing the required personal protective equipment provided
• Complete training as required and apply the learning in performing operations to
• Perform all reasonable requests made by management.
