Job description
Responsibilities

Provide specialist outpatient care in chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, new-patient and teaching clinics. Supervise ward-based patients receiving all modern cancer treatments, acute oncology patients and symptom control admissions. Join the hybrid on‑call rota with resident long day shifts, overnight non‑resident cover and manage the emergency assessment unit, day unit and emergency ward cover during on‑call periods. Expose to acute oncology for training curriculum and manage clinical commitments during on‑call periods.

Qualifications

Full registration with the GMC and licence to practise by the date of application. MRCP essential. Basic medical degree (MBChB) and valid Advanced Life Support certificate. Successful completion of foundation competencies by application. Minimum 3 years full‑time postgraduate training at core level to achieve medical competencies (e.g. IMT or ACCS Acute Medicine or equivalent). At least 6 months experience in the NHS as a substantive post desirable. Right of residence in the UK required; otherwise sponsorship will be required.
