Job description

The Team Leader will be responsible for managing and overseeing the overspill dispersal accommodation (ODA) across Southwest, Southeast, London, and Wales, and a team of Housing Officers responsible for these sites. The role includes ensuring management oversight of property inspections, complaints, and the safeguarding and welfare checks of Service Users.

The Team Leader will also be responsible for managing the relationship with sub-contractors for the ODA properties and ensuring that standards are consistently met. Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to and Key Performance Indicators are met, whilst supporting the Strategic Operational Lead for the area.

The role is home-based, however, travel to the areas of responsibility will be required and will be managed and planned accordingly by the Team Leader. The Team Leader will be expected to attend meetings for their area and liaise with Home Office professionals, regional Safeguarding Officers, Local Authorities, and the police and other emergency services.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and prioritizing your diary to ensure monthly one-to-ones and performance reviews are completed alongside property inspections and audits.
  • Managing your own personal time to meet business demands with a team of Housing Officers located and operating across Southwest to ensure the productivity of the team.
  • Offering guidance and support to your team of Housing Officers who maintain the standards of their property portfolio and support the accommodated Service Users.
  • Meeting both your own Key Performance Indicators and actively supporting your team to meet their objectives and meet the requirements of the Home Office contract.
  • Communicating and liaising with stakeholders and local authority staff and sub-contractors, including the Police, NHS, involved charities, and Environmental Health.
  • Ensuring your team is trained and developed to support the requirements of the contract and to support the successful completion of their role.
  • Planning and managing personal business objectives in line with the Statement of Requirements (SOR) set out in the Home Office contract.
  • Pursuing personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Deputizing for Strategic Operational Lead at meetings when required.
  • Ensuring that complaints are responded to on time.
  • Working closely with the Property team with regards to procuring new properties for the area.
  • Ensuring that property defects are reported and rectified in line with the contract.
Requirements

  • Must be able to travel across a large geographical portfolio on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
