Localization Experience Manager – English

The Globalization team is key in enabling Expedia Group’s international growth by adapting EG’s products, brands and services across the world, delivering a great experience to both travellers and p ar tners alike, at scale.

We ar e currently looking for an experienced Localization Experience Manager to drive the local and regional Globalization strategy in English speaking m ar kets for E xpedia G roup ’s products and localized content. This role will be based in the London office and will work closely with the regional and global teams and stakeholders .

The focus of this role is to implement a strategic approach to language management at scale and be a trusted expert who understand s the specific needs of the t ar get m ar ket ( s ) , collaborate s wit h stakeholders and deliver s the most engaging local experience . The L ocalization Experience Manager position offers this mix in a dynamic, multi-cultural and productive environment! You will work with our internal and external teams to help all Expedia Group brands operate with a truly global approach.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and implement a comprehensive l ocalization strategy, recommending course of action for internal and external teams and advocating for better local user experience.

  • Develop linguistic and cultural stand ar ds and define quality expectations for all brands, experiences and languages in your scope .

  • Build compelling business cases, highlighting relevance of programs and initiatives for stakeholders and p ar tner teams.

  • Identify opportunities for and drive improvement s b y analysing m ar ket and language data (language consumption trends at m ar ket and brand level, internal and external quality data points e.g.) and draw ing informed conclusions.

  • B uild relationships with local , regional and global stakeholders that go beyond the topic of localization quality , and help you understand the business context and deliver a better localized experience for the languages/m ar kets in your scope .

  • S upport stakeholders seeking linguistic and local relevancy advice for assigned language (s) and/or m ar ket (s) and proactively seek opportunities to offer expert linguistic and cultural recommendations.

  • P roactively identify opportunities to apply automation and simplification of processes ( MT and related models, GenAI -supported content generation, etc. )

  • Collaborate with other Localization Experience Managers to ensure opportunities ar e assessed on a local, regional and global level.

  • S upport global L ocalization Experience and Globalization initiatives ( Automated Quality Evaluation, Content Authoring, audits, competitor analyses and m ar ket deep dive s, pr ompt writing, GenAI implementations, etc. )

  • Ensure the localization quality of the Expedia Group branded products in t ar get language (s) .

Experience and qualifications:

  • Solid experience in the ecommerce/media/localisation industry as a localization or language manager/team leader.

  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management and vendor collaboration and ar e famili ar with content production processes.

  • Knowledge of translation memories and translation processes, experienced in working in a global environment and leveraging AI-powered tools and processes .

  • Display strong interpersonal skills , communicate well both verbally and in writing, can create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, sh ar e information and id eas .

  • Ability to deliver structured, cle ar and constructive feedback. You ar e also knowledgeable about the English-speaking m ar kets (especially UK ), linguistic and cultural sensitivities and sp ecifics of different regions .
