Landscaping, Site Foreman / Supervisor

Salary: GBP45,000 to GBP50,000 + Vehicle

Depot: Haslemere, Surrey

Type: Permanent, Employed

You will be joining a hugely successful Landscaping Contractor, in a pivotal role, taking responsibility for the soft landscaping associated with large infrastructure projects and major commercial / industrial developments. The company has recently won a number of significant projects and has a full order book for the coming year. They are looking for a Foreman to take responsibility for the largest sites that involve substantial planting schemes. You will need to maintain a clear understanding of the drawings and specifications, provide the client with a dedicated project manager, and manage your team to ensure that the works are completed on time and to specification.

The Job:

The Site Foreman will take responsibility for managing consecutive sites in the Home Counties. You will have responsibility for all aspects of the site operation and the management of the workforce. Working together with your team of 5 or 6 operatives, you will create landscaping schemes that include seeding, turfing, tree whips, and shrubs in very large quantities and across considerable areas. Some projects will include large specimen trees, and any experience in the transport and planting of these would be useful.

• Using Plans and Planting Diagrams to accurately create Landscaping schemes
• Your plant and general horticultural knowledge will enable you to identify problems and devise solutions.
• Liaising with Clients and the Office to report progress
• Motivating the workforce and organising each day's work scheduling.
• Ensure all stock is available for each site on a daily basis, organising call-offs and deliveries to ensure completion dates are met
• Produce Risk Assessments, RAMS, and ensure PPE is available.
• Maintain a good client relationship, dealing with the Client needs and resourcing them adequately
• Making sure that all tools and equipment are well maintained, clean, and serviceable

The Person:

You will have previous supervisory experience in a landscaping role and have good communication skills. Importantly, you will be hardworking with good attention to detail, diplomatic, and calm with clients.

• Hold licences for digger, dumper, and possibly forklift
• Be used to working with Construction Drawings and Planting Diagrams.
• Highly organised and professional in approach with a keen eye for detail
• Assertive and proactive in thinking and approach, robust, committed, and commercially minded

Qualifications:

• CSCS
• SSSTS/SMSTS (preferred)
• Digger & Dumper Tickets
• PA1 & PA6 Spraying
