Based in Bovey Tracey and Princetown, Devon

This is a full-time (37hrs p/wk) position, for a fixed-term until 30th September 2026. The role is based at the Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) offices at Parke and Princetown.

About The Role

Are you an organised, proactive individual with a passion for the environment? Do you thrive in a role that combines project co-ordination, communications, and administration? Were looking for a Project Officer to support the delivery of projects within our dynamic Conservation and Land Management team.

In this vital role, youll help bring environmental projects to life by providing essential support across contract management, financial administration, communications, and stakeholder engagement. You'll be a key player in ensuring our conservation and land projects are delivered smoothly, on time, and with maximum impact.

What youll be doing:

  • Youll support contract co-ordinationhelping commission, track, and manage contracts while ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
  • Youll take the lead on communications, creating engaging content and sharing updates across newsletters, social media, and websites.
  • Organising meetings and events will be part of your role, including preparing materials, arranging logistics, and taking minutes when needed.
  • Youll assist with financial administrationprocessing invoices, supporting budgets, and helping with regular reporting.
  • Finally, youll work closely with a wide range of partners, contractors, and the Dartmoor farming community to ensure strong collaboration and positive outcomes across all projects.

About You

The successful applicant will be passionate about supporting projects that deliver real environmental impact, with strong project administration skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Theyll be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly and confidently.

Experience in creating engaging content for websites, newsletters, and social media is essential, along with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences and channels.

While a background in conservation, farming, or ecology is desirable, its not essentialwe welcome candidates from a variety of professional backgrounds who share a commitment to environmental work and want to make a difference.

This is a role for someone who can hit the ground running, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on conservation and land management.

The post is hosted by Dartmoor National Park Authority and will be based in Princetown and Parke but will involve some travelling around Dartmoor.
