Job summary

Basingstoke Council is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to head the Landscape and Open Spaces team, shaping neighbourhoods, parks and public spaces for residents. You will manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects and programmes across the borough, collaborating with planners, grounds maintenance, ecologists and rangers to create better spaces for today and tomorrow.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate diploma in landscape architecture is required.
• Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute or working toward Chartership.
• Strong management and leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of landscape architects, open space officers and a play and projects officer.
• Deliver projects and work programmes to enhance parks, play areas and public spaces.
• Collaborate with planners, grounds maintenance, ecologists and rangers.
• Shape and direct work to improve residents' daily lives and future growth.
