Job description

Warwickshire County Council's Ecology, Historic Environment & Landscape Team is seeking to hire a Senior Landscape Architect, a Landscape Officer, or an Assistant Landscape Officer.

Positions Available:
  1. Senior Landscape Architect (£40,476 - £42,708)
  2. Landscape Officer (£35,235 – £37,938)
  3. Assistant Landscape Officer (£27,711 – £30,060)

Join Warwickshire County Council, the first council to deliver Biodiversity Net Gain and a leader in Natural Capital Investment to promote Landscape Recovery.

The primary responsibility of these roles is to provide planning advice on county applications (such as mineral extraction) and district applications (including residential and commercial developments). Additionally, you will support the Natural Capital team in achieving the goal of planting 566,000 trees by 2030, which is one tree for every resident of Warwickshire. Experience with grants (e.g., Forestry Commission) and understanding carbon markets would be beneficial.

Expertise in updating the Landscape Character Assessment for the county would be advantageous.

You will join a dedicated team of 15 ecological officers, 5 historic environment officers, and 1 landscape architect. More information on the team’s remit and structure can be found here.

We seek candidates who can integrate well with the existing team, bringing their skills and enthusiasm to expand their expertise. Our training plan supports progression from apprentices to Service Manager, aligned with chartered institute competency frameworks.
