This is an exciting opportunity to influence the design of new residential communities, with a focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable, and people-oriented landscape strategies that enhance housing layout schemes and public spaces.

The Landscape Architect will be responsible for designing and developing landscape-led masterplans, green infrastructure strategies, and detailed open space layouts across a range of residential sites.

Key Responsibilities for this Landscape Architect role:

  • Design landscape strategies and open space networks that complement and enhance housing layout schemes.
  • Prepare landscape masterplans, planting plans, and visual material for planning applications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to the creation of Design and Access Statements, Design Codes, and Landscape & Visual Impact Assessments.
  • Ensure all landscape proposals meet current planning policy, biodiversity standards, and best practice in sustainable design.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants (ecologists, engineers, architects) to deliver coordinated and deliverable design solutions.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality, green infrastructure, play spaces, streetscapes, and communal open spaces.
  • Keep up-to-date with planning policy, environmental guidance, and emerging landscape design trends.

Essential Requirements for this Landscape Architect role:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture or a closely related discipline.
  • Chartered status with the Landscape Institute (or working toward chartership) is desirable.
  • Experience working on residential or mixed-use development projects, ideally for housebuilders or masterplanning consultancies.
  • Strong graphic and presentation skills; proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp (or similar).
  • Knowledge of UK planning policy, biodiversity net gain, and sustainable drainage (SuDS) integration.
