Astute's Renewables Team is partnered with a leading business in the Biogas sector, who have an impressive portfolio of Landfill Gas sites across the UK and are looking to recruit a Technician to cover sites around Bristol, South Wales and Kent.

The Landfill Gas Technician role comes with a salary of between 30,000 - 38,000 depending on experience, bonus, life assurance, and additional benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Landfill Gas Technician role

Reporting to the Site Manager you will:

  • Planned & reactive maintenance on Landfill Gas sites.
  • Carrying out fault finding activities on the gas engines.
  • Performing remote start-ups of back-up engines if there is a breakdown.
  • Planned and reactive maintenance on gas fields and carrying out repairs as necessary.
  • Working as part of a team of Engineers, ensuring safe & efficient operation of the generating plant.
  • Ensuring health & safety is adhered to at all times.
  • Other duties as required.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A relevant engineering qualification or time-served experience.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
Personal skills

The Landfill Gas Technician role would suit someone who is:

  • Experience maintaining and repairing Jenbacher or CAT engines is a huge advantage or other large reciprocating engines.
  • Experience working on large processing equipment (pumps, motors etc).
  • Happy to travel across to various sites in the Southwest and Southeast of the UK with overnight stays.
  • A junior Engineer who is willing to learn and be part of an established team.
