Job description

As part of the Survey Solutions Group, SurvaTec is hiring for a Land Surveyor to join the team in Essex.

Utilising the very latest technologies, equipment and our site engineers’ experience and knowledge, SurvaTec Limited approaches every project with the aim to deliver the most accurate results. Committed to Health and Safety and the continued protection of the Environment, SurvaTec Limited tailors each survey package specifically to meet our clients’ requirements and provides unique and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Scope of Work from the SMT prior to each site mobilisation to ensure correct and complete delivery of works.
  • Take full responsibility for collecting survey data on site, promptly returning and downloading data to the office for post-processing and delivery of client projects.
  • Work within industry guidelines and client specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with other survey operatives both on site and in the office.
  • Collaborate with the SMT to ensure timely project delivery according to standards, format, and client specifications.
  • Complete and follow Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and all Health and Safety reporting guidelines.
  • Adhere to all legislative requirements on site.
  • Provide feedback to the SMT regarding progress, delivery, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in the development of equipment, procedures, or new software.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure safety and availability.
  • Perform additional duties within other areas of the company as required.

Key Competencies:

  • Experience with surveying equipment (Total Station, GPS, Leveller).
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Valid driving licence.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ land surveying or relevant experience.
  • Experience with High-definition laser scanners.
  • Experience in setting out works.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with N4CE.
  • Experience with Cyclone.
  • A CSCS Card is preferred.
