Role Overview

As a Land Referencing Manager at Savills based England/Wales, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality land referencing services for prestigious infrastructure projects. Combining technical expertise with strategic leadership, you will oversee project delivery, manage specialist teams, and provide expert guidance on land ownership, compulsory purchase processes, and statutory requirements, ensuring excellence in service and client satisfaction.

Skills required:
  • Extensive experience in land referencing, ideally on major infrastructure schemes within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of planning and compulsory purchase legislation, including DCO and CPO processes.
  • Experience in managing and supporting land referencing teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and fostering professional growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee land referencing work packages for major infrastructure projects (e.g., DCO, CPO, TWAO).
  • Ensure technical teams deliver on time and within budget.
  • Manage client-side purchase orders, monitor variations, and provide expert advice on land referencing requirements for planning applications, compulsory acquisition, and legal due diligence.
  • Supervise and support the land referencing team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify training and development needs to enhance team expertise in land referencing methodologies.
  • Support the Head of Land Referencing in preparing resource, scope, and cost estimates for commercial tenders while providing strategic input on land referencing approaches for major schemes, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks.

Team Overview

The Infrastructure Projects team is a single department covering the whole of the UK. It consists of over 60 staff located throughout the country at entry level to those with over 30 years’ experience.
We specialise in Infrastructure and Utilities clients and projects and are passionate about the high levels of service and collaborative working with our clients.
