About the role
National Grid Interconnectors is at the heart of the UK’s transition to a net zero energy future. We operate several HVDC Interconnectors connecting the UK’s energy system to neighboring countries, facilitating energy import and export.
We are currently recruiting a Lands Manager
to develop the Lands Capability within National Grid Ventures. The role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to establish mature strategies and processes.
As a Lands Manager, you will lead a team of Lands SMEs to achieve best-in-class delivery across our OHA portfolio. You will embody NG leadership values and demonstrate commitment to the Team Charter, Team Safety, and Team Wellbeing.
Candidates should have experience managing activities across different projects with developers, building strong relationships with delivery partners and stakeholders, and possess good financial acumen. We offer a hybrid working model, with flexibility for travel to offices and project sites.
Key Accountabilities
- Own and manage mitigation plans for risks, issues, or delivery deviations impacting the Critical Path, ensuring high-quality reporting and communication.
- Improve policies, strategies, and processes across Lands and Consents to enhance project delivery and ensure consistency across the portfolio.
- Focus on stakeholder engagement to enhance National Grid Ventures’ reputation.
- Communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and leadership channels to ensure Lands considerations are understood and reported.
- Drive standardization and transparency in work planning, strategy, processes, and policies across the Lands portfolio.
- Ensure adherence to governance processes, reviewing and quality assuring technical and reporting outputs from the Lands team.
- Manage non-performance and non-conformance issues to achieve suitable resolutions.
- Lead the team to deliver within set budgets, maintaining financial controls and tracking third-party spend.
- Manage contracts with delivery partners to ensure performance aligns with KPIs.
About you
- Proven experience as a Lands Advisor or similar, with comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
- Experience advising on Lands aspects of major infrastructure projects, including CPO and DCO processes.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with a passion for people development.
- High proficiency in corporate reporting, communication, and management.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000, dependent on capability.
