Job summary

North Warwickshire Borough Council is seeking a Land Charges and Validation Officer within the Development Management Team to administer Local Land Charges searches and validate planning applications. The role supports prompt, accurate processing and provides guidance to applicants and agents.

You will be one of the first contacts for customers, maintaining records and helping improve processes as the council continues to invest in its Planning Service.

North Warwickshire Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our growing Development Management Team as a Land Charges and Validation Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the Planning Service, helping to ensure planning applications are processed promptly and accurately while providing an excellent service to residents, developers, solicitors and other stakeholders.

As a Land Charges and Validation Officer, you will be responsible for the administration of Local Land Charges searches and the validation of planning applications. You will be one of the first points of contact for customers and will play a vital role in ensuring applications and enquiries are dealt with efficiently and professionally.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Processing Local Land Charges searches and associated enquiries.
• Validating planning applications and checking submissions against statutory and local requirements.
• Providing advice and guidance to applicants, agents, solicitors and members of the public.
• Maintaining accurate records and databases.
• Supporting the wider Development Management Team with administrative and customer service functions.
• Assisting with the continuous improvement of planning and land charges processes.
