Job summary

MBDA UK, based in the West of England, seeks a Systems Engineer to join the Land Ceptor functional development team. You will capture customer needs and derive system requirements across subsystems and software to enable a common product suite for multiple contracts.

You will work in a hybrid model, participate in change control, conduct trade studies, and communicate architectures clearly to stakeholders while supporting export and UK programmes.

Qualifications

• Requirements management and derivation experience (ideally in a defence)
• Experience of system engineering tools e.g. DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody
• Ability to disseminate technical information to customers clearly
• Engineering change control and management experience
• Ability to initiate and drive trade studies and system development activities
• Experience developing complex systems (ideally in defence)
• Ability to communicate architectures and ideas at all levels
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Experience of working with product lines would be beneficial

Job description

Here at MBDA, our Land Ceptor Systems Engineering team is growing in order to help the British and Polish Armies fulfil the full potential of the system and to extend and tailor the capability for existing and emerging export contracts. Salary: Up to £57,000 depending on experience Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity: The recent commencement of the NAREW export contract for Poland alongside the support of the British Army system and production of systems for other contracts sees the Land Ceptor functional development team needing to grow to support this varied portfolio.

As a Systems Engineer, Requirements within the Functional development team you’ll be involved in:

• Helping the customer understand and capture their needs
• Deriving suitable system, subsystem and software requirements to meet the needs
• Informing product line approaches to allow a common suite of products to meet different customer needs
• Determining and managing processes and procedures to manage change is a controlled way
• Acting as customer for specific software items

What we're looking for from you:

• Requirements management and derivation experience (ideally in a defence)
• Experience of system engineering tools e.g. DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody

• Engineering change control and management experience
