Job summary

Persimmon Homes is seeking a Land Buyer to join the Land Team. You will manage the land buying process, identify opportunities, and support Technical and Commercial teams across projects in the North Midlands area.

You’ll handle site appraisals, negotiate terms, and present findings to the board, balancing commercial and planning considerations with initiative and teamwork in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications.
• IT proficiency, particularly conversant with MS Office package.
• Report writing skills and excellent business English with good attention to detail.
• Full driving licence.
• Land Buying experience.
• Committed to providing professional, proactive and innovative solutions.
• Dedicated to adding value at all opportunities.
• Detailed understanding of the planning process.
• Instructing, managing and working alongside legal professionals in contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Managing the land buying process within the Land and Planning team and supporting Technical and Commercial teams.

• Managing own and team members’ work lists with focus on delivery to deadlines.
• Appraising both strategic and short-term opportunities.
• Negotiating heads of terms and contracts on new opportunities.
• Meeting with agents and owners and presenting for internal board approvals.
• Presenting and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Land Buyer to join the Land Team. The Planning team in provides a comprehensive planning service for Persimmon Homes across our North Midlandsarea.

The post carries a level of responsibility, involving being part of a team on a variety of projects. It is expected that the post holder will undertake tasks using initiative and be expected to manage their own and other team members time to hit key deadlines, deliver sites and present both internally and externally in a professional way.
