Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a prominent renewable energy developer dedicated to sustainability, innovation, and professional growth to recruit a Land Acquisition Manager for its Northern England and Scotland operations.

The Land Acquisition Manager role offers a salary up to £75,000 depending on experience, an attractive bonus structure, pension, and flexible working options.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Land, you will:

  1. Identify and assess potential land opportunities for large-scale solar, BESS, and hydrogen projects.
  2. Secure land for grid connection applications in collaboration with internal teams.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, and key stakeholders.
  4. Negotiate land rights agreements, including leases and easements.
  5. Provide support on land-related matters to the development team.
  6. Present new opportunities to senior leadership and the investment committee.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a land acquisition or property-focused role, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Demonstrated success in securing land rights and developing strong relationships with landowners and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of UK planning policy and its influence on renewable energy development.
  • Knowledge of distribution and transmission networks and their role in energy projects.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently to meet targets and deadlines.
  • RICS accreditation is desirable.
