The growth of Microsoft's cloud business necessitates the acquisition and development of Data Center facilities. The Infrastructure Planning & Acquisition (IPA) team handles the planning and acquisition of Data Center Infrastructure, with the Land Acquisition Team responsible for securing the necessary real estate.
The Land Acquisitions Manager plays a key role in acquiring land, sometimes before zoning is in place, to support the build-out of Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include researching property characteristics, engaging with brokers, developers, government entities, and internal teams, and accelerating market growth through proactive pre-construction activities. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact a large data center portfolio and help expand infrastructure in various markets.
The role involves developing relationships with stakeholders, evaluating property solutions, engaging with municipalities, and managing complex contracts from both business and technical perspectives.
