Responsibilities
- Assist Extrusion Technicians with SEE01 start-up/shutdown.
- Operate Winder Control Board.
- Transfer Production/Scrap Rolls from spindle to spindle.
- Place new cores, with tape, on empty spindle.
- Remove old tape from used cores.
- Operate department roll lifts.
- Remove Production/Scrap rolls from spindle with department roll lifts.
- Place production rolls on production V-skid with roll lift.
- Process necessary paperwork (Travelers, Box Count Sheet, etc.).
- Label production rolls.
- Understand Dyne Pen usage.
- Wrap and band production V-skids.
- Operate PIT (fork truck).
- Assist with moving regrind/material around in department.
- Transport regrind and scrap materials to racking system in warehouse.
- Remove production V-skids from building/packaging area.
- Replace production V-skid with empty V-skid.
- Repair damaged V-skids.
- Transfer scrap roll to sheet grinder spindle with roll lift.
- Operate large sheet grinder.
- Clean large sheet grinder.
- Clean edge trim grinder.
- Clean regrind day bins.
- Assist with draining Extruder material hoppers.
- Build regrind and scrap material gaylords.
- Properly label regrind and scrap material gaylords.
- Keep area clean and neat.
- Assist in monitoring sheet quality.
- Monitor packaging supplies, e.g., bags, core tape, V-skid cardboard, etc.
- Retrieve and bring packaging supplies when necessary.
- Bring skids, and totes of cores, down from 2nd floor mezzanine.
- Operate elevator.
- Operate mezzanine slide gates.
- Maintain appropriate department PPE.
- Maintain and enforce all safety, environmental, and health requirements.
- Complete monthly GDC requirements.
- Complete “My Development” course requirements.
- Attend weekly department “Safety” meetings.
- Attend daily “Tool Box” talks on floor.
- Communicate effectively with all team members across shifts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks.
- Ability to stand and walk for at least seven hours during an 8-hour shift.
- Minimal lifting capabilities of 30 lbs.
- Completion of PIT (fork truck) written testing and driving competency.
- Schlumpf Armanni lift usage competency.
- LOTO written testing and usage competency.
- Fall Protection training and harness usage.
