Near Wigton, Cumbria
£15.00 per hour + Bonuses - £40k p/a +
Monday – Friday | 7:00AM – 5:00PM Own transport required due to location
Permanent, Full-Time Role
Riverside Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of a growing abattoir near Wigton, recently under new ownership and entering a new phase of investment and development. We are recruiting for experienced Lamb Line Operatives to join their expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Humane and efficient slaughter of lamb in line with regulations
• Skilled butchery, knife handling and hide removal
• Ensuring correct carcass breakdown and quality control
• Maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards
• Working collaboratively with the production team to meet daily targets

Requirements:
• Proven experience working on a lamb line in a slaughterhouse or meat processing facility
• Skilled in knife work and butchery
• Understanding of animal welfare and food safety procedures
• Physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment
• Comfortable with the nature of abattoir work (blood, carcasses, etc.)
Own transport essential due to rural site location
• Reliable, punctual, and team-focused

• 50 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 7:00AM – 5:00PM
