Job summary

Eton College seeks an Operations Assistant at Dorney Lake to support day-to-day site operations, grounds, buildings and events with a focus on on-site security, water safety and boat handling.

The role involves 40 hours per week with some weekend/evening rota work, and optional accommodation on Queen’s Eyot. You may serve as duty manager during events and help safeguard pupils and staff. A strong team player and good communicator is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with boats on water
• General maintenance skills
• Ability to swim 50m
• RYA Level 2 Powerboat desirable; training provided
• First Aid at Work desirable; training provided
• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
• Effective communication with customers and staff
• Calm, professional demeanor and a team player

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, boats and ancillary equipment.
• Maintain pontoon, buoy systems, launches, PA system and water quality.
• Maintain buildings and surroundings.
• Support security of buildings, grounds and workshop.
• Manage Lake and boathouse booking system and payments.
• Provide water safety coverage for external clients and events.
• Coordinate health and safety policies for water activities.
• Assist with duty manager duties during events.
