Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and storing cattle and sheep in accordance with animal welfare best practice guidelines.

Responsibilities

The Role

  • Unloading and transferring animals to holding pens prior to slaughter;
  • Reading ear tags and allocating kill numbers;
  • Checking permits and carrying out FCI and transport audits;
  • Ensuring permits and information are correctly entered into the system;
  • Assisting with the daily cleaning schedule in Lairage;
  • Maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with company rules and regulations.
Qualifications

The Person

  • Possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent);
  • Previous experience in cattle and sheep handling is essential;
  • Knowledge of animal welfare best practices;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
  • IT Skills essential
