Overview

I am a friendly lady with chronic illness (mainly Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, ME) and I am seeking a female Personal Assistant to assist with everyday living tasks including personal care, domestic care, occasional meal prep and gardening. You will need to inform yourself about my conditions. The role requires the ability to work from a list and to use initiative, particularly on days when fatigue limits interaction.

Due to the severity of ME I am mostly bed bound, with occasional movement to a wheelchair. I currently require the use of a hoist to get out of bed; my fiancé usually assists, but there may be occasions where PA support is needed for this task. On better days I enjoy conversation and crafting, but there may be times when I need to rest and you will complete the list.

It is important you understand my health conditions (details explained in interview). I value privacy and a delicate approach for any personal care, with a space to rest when needed and to be able to request space for unwell days.

Environment: I have two cats. I enjoy nails painting on occasion. Hours are preferred at the beginning and end of the week, but I can be flexible with times and last-minute changes. This role requires a female PA due to personal care needs.

• Desirable: Full UK driving licence and own car

Terms and Conditions

• The rate of pay is £14 per hour
• Reimbursement for agreed expenses
• Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers
• Hours: 4 hours per week, preferably on a Tuesday. Days and exact timings negotiable at interview
• Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals, and Food Handling training if required; annual training
• DBS check cost covered by employer
• Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be current or last employer
• Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
