Job summary

Tagged Resources Recruitment specialists supplying Fashion, Beauty, Food and Home is seeking an experienced Ladieswear Designer for mature ladieswear. The role covers tops, dresses, knits, trousers, and coordinated pieces, with a focus on commercial, wearable collections.

You will design across multiple categories, create prints and colorways, work with sampling and production, and stay attuned to current fashion trends while keeping the customer’s needs in mind.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Ladieswear Designer.
• Strong knowledge of the mature ladieswear market.
• CAD design and preparation for sampling.
• Experience creating original prints and artwork.
• Good understanding of garment construction, fit and sizing.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Ladieswear Designer to join a busy team, specialising in mature ladieswear.

The ideal candidate will have strong all-round womenswear design experience and be confident designing across a wide range of product categories, including:

• Tops & blouses
• Dresses
• Knitwear
• Trousers & bottoms
• Co-ordinated pieces and other ladieswear

Key Responsibilities

• Designing commercial, stylish and wearable collections for the mature ladieswear market
• Creating new styles and developing existing designs
• CAD design and preparation for sampling, including accurate size specifications
• Creating and developing prints, patterns and colourways
• Working closely with the sampling and production process to ensure designs are clearly communicated
• Keeping up to date with current fashion trends while understanding the needs of the mature customer
• Working independently and managing deadlines across multiple projects

The Ideal Candidate

• We are looking for someone with:
• Proven experience as a Ladieswear Designer
• Strong knowledge of the mature ladieswear market
• Excellent all-round product knowledge
• Strong CAD skills and experience preparing designs for sampling
• Experience creating original prints and artwork
• A good understanding of garment construction, fit and sizing
• A commercial eye and ability to design with the customer and market in mind
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small, busy team
