Job description

University of Bath HC are looking for a Coach for our Women's 2ndXI for the coming 2025/26 season. The Women’s 2XI will be competing in the BUCS West 1 League. As a team, our objective will be promotion into the BUCS South Premier League as well as to develop players of a 1stXI (BUCS National Premier League) standard to push the Performance Hockey Programme at the University of Bath. We are looking for a coach to lead weekly Monday training sessions and ideally take the team on Wednesday matchdays.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and tailored weekly training sessions on Monday evenings
  • Availability to coach team on Wednesday matchdays is preferable but not essential
  • Take an active role in the development of players pushing to play 1stXI hockey
  • Monitor performance and provide feedback to players
  • Communicate and collaborate with the 1stXI Head Coach on systems of play, player development and feedback.
  • Work closely with the team captain and senior players to ensure a positive atmosphere and provide support for all.

Experience and Approach

  • A coaching qualification of EH Level 2 or equivalent is desirable. However, we will consider applicants without a formal qualification but with sufficient relevant coaching experience.

  • Proven track record of player development
  • Motivated and ambitious individual with excellent people skills
  • Experience in a similar role may be advantageous but is not essential

Pay: Competitive and commensurate to coaching qualifications and experience
