Job Description

What you'll be doing?

Within the construction environment, your responsibilities will include purchasing materials, managing large projects, ensuring health and safety compliance, and providing excellent customer service. We work on approximately 400 developments across the UK, ranging from new builds on brownfield sites to adapting existing structures like old factories or hospitals.

We seek individuals who can bring innovation and creativity, along with the ability to manage people, budgets, and costs effectively. Our construction teams have been recognized with more NHBC Pride in the Job Awards than any other housebuilder for thirteen consecutive years.

Reporting to the Site Manager, your role will involve ensuring all labor tasks are completed to high standards and within deadlines.

You will be expected to:

  • Carry out all site works as instructed by the Site Manager, adhering to BDW standards and procedures.
  • Inspect on-site signage, including sale signs, plot signs, and safety signs, ensuring they are clean and in good repair.
  • Take personal responsibility for health and safety on site and report any breaches.
  • Ensure protection of fixed materials is maintained and that subcontractors follow safety procedures.
  • Maintain compound and welfare facilities.
  • Keep all plots under construction tidy and free of surplus materials.
  • Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress and safety.
  • Segregate and recycle waste following group guidelines.
  • Check show home gardens and public spaces weekly, removing any rubbish.
What you'll need

To succeed in this role, you should be:

  • An enthusiastic self-starter capable of working independently using initiative.
  • Experienced in large-volume domestic house building sites.
  • Aware of health and safety practices.
  • Possessing a current CSCS or partner scheme card.
