Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Labourer to join our team within the water industry. The successful candidate will assist with the excavation, replacement, and reinstatement of underground water services, working to site plans and drawings to ensure accurate, safe, and efficient delivery of works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use of CAT & Genny to locate and avoid underground services.
  • Manual excavation around live water mains and other utility services.
  • Replacement and renewal of lead, copper, and MDPE water service pipes.
  • Operation of tools including Stihl saws, breakers, and wacker plates.
  • Backfilling and reinstating works to a high standard.
  • Interpreting and working from utility plans and drawings.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Use of trenchless technology such as compressor mole or Kobus system. (desirable but not essential)

Requirements:
  • Proven experience working around underground utilities, particularly water services.
  • EUSR/SHEA Water.
  • Competence in working with a variety of pipe materials. (lead, copper, MDPE)
  • Experience carrying out manual excavations.
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and plans.
  • Street Works qualification. (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience with compressor mole or Kobus system. (desirable)
