As Labour Ward Lead, you will oversee daily obstetric unit operations during allocated hot weeks, delivering consultant-led care while ensuring a dedicated focus on

Qualifications

Full GMC registration is essential.
MRCOG or equivalent specialist registration required.
CCT or equivalent qualification (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by AAC date).
Must expect to receive CCT within 6 months to be interview eligible; otherwise already on GMC Specialist Register.
Entry onto GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within 6 months of AAC date is required.

Responsibilities

Lead Labour Ward management during designated hot weeks with dedicated obstetric care.
Deliver direct, consultant-led care across the obstetric unit.
Develop and enhance simulation training programmes (e.g., PROMPT-style) for multidisciplinary teams.
Provide emergency gynaecology cover during hot weeks and participate in general obstetrics/gynaecology clinics and theatres as required.
