Job summary

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Milton Keynes is seeking a Labour Ward Coordinator. The role is part-time (25 hours per week) with the expectation of flexible working and rotation between days and nights.

You will lead the maternity team and be responsible for out-of-hours management of the Labour Ward, ensuring safe, compassionate care across shifts. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to professional

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with NMC and current practice.
• Degree level qualification with relevant postgrad training.
• MSPP/ENB 998 or similar teaching qualification is desirable.
• Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
• Leadership qualification or completion of leadership programme.
• Newborn Life Support and NIPE training.
• Experience of human factors training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth running of the Labour Ward on a day-to-day basis.
• Maintain oversight of management for all clinical care on the Labour Ward during a shift.
• Act as a source of clinical support for the midwifery and obstetric teams.
• Provide expert advice and coordinate resources to enable safe care across MDTs.
