Position Overview

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Overview:

We are seeking manufacturing candidates with the ability to operate highly technical production equipment. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Successful candidates must be available to work any shift and overtime. Candidates should have good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills, as well as the ability to accurately use measurement instruments and apply good mathematical problem-solving skills.

As a Laborer, your contributions will include:

  • Completing work safely, promptly, and professionally
  • Recognizing and mitigating safety risks, and communicating effectively about risks and exposures
  • Monitoring instrumentation and control devices
  • Making product and process decisions based on graphical and statistical analysis
  • Practicing good housekeeping
  • Participating in preventative maintenance tasks
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and suggesting new ideas
  • Learning and growing within a team environment
  • Communicating effectively via email across departments and locations
  • Giving and receiving feedback in an open, honest, and respectful manner

Candidate Requirements:

Our Terre Haute facility is located centrally in the Wabash Valley, about an hour from Indianapolis. It employs 175 workers who produce high-quality light gauge aluminum used in foil containers and industrial fin products. Through the Novelis Neighbor program, employees support local nonprofits such as United Way, Salvation Army, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts, focusing on safety, STEM, and recycling initiatives. Terre Haute offers a rich cultural and recreational environment with five higher education institutions.
