Job description

Laboratory Technician – Southport, NC

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine analytical testing procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
2. Use analytical results and feedback from internal/external sources to determine test equipment calibration needs and adjustments.
3. Record and compile test results to prepare graphs, charts, and reports as required by management.
4. Communicate results to internal/external customers via COA’s, verbal, or written documentation.
5. Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance with company standards and policies, and communicate deviations to Lab Techs and management.
6. Schedule and execute sample submittals to external laboratories for testing.
7. Receive and document external testing results.
8. Provide ongoing training and process improvement ideas to Lab Techs working on evening shifts.
9. Conduct routine quality control testing and maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities.
10. Maintain the lab in a safe and sanitary condition.
11. Participate actively in quality, food safety, and safety programs.
12. Support the QFS Manager.
13. Verify sufficient inventory of testing supplies and maintain the cleanliness of the laboratory environment.
