Job summary

ALS Ely is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to support the delivery of reliable analytical data in a role based at their Ely site. The position requires attention to detail and adherence to documented methods, quality standards, and safety requirements in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours weekly, with a fixed-term contract until March 2028. The role includes GMP allowances and opportunities for development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs (C/4 or above) including Science, Maths and English.
• A level or equivalent qualification in a scientific subject.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and documented procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Good planning and organisational skills; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory work following documented methods and procedures.
• Perform analysis within agreed timescales to meet customer expectations.
• Complete daily quality control checks and calibrations.
• Ensure data meets ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 standards.
• Maintain clean, organised lab areas and proper waste disposal.
• Follow health and safety policies and COSHH requirements.
• Report incidents or hazards to the Line Manager.
• Maintain CPD records.
