Job summary

Cawood is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join the team at Marchwood. You will extract and prepare environmental and food samples for analysis in our analytical laboratory.

You will work to UKAS standards (ISO 17025 and MCERTS), perform routine assays, calibrations, and QC checks, and maintain accurate data records. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at minimum; grade C or above preferred.
• Strong analytical and detail-focused abilities; accuracy is essential.
• Good communication and teamwork capabilities; able to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and extract a variety of environmental/food samples for analysis.
• Carry out preparation/extraction to be ready for analysis and perform routine analytical techniques.
• Adhere to documented procedures; perform QC checks and record data accurately.
• Work to UKAS standards (ISO 17025 and MCERTS) and ensure calibrations and QC charts are maintained.
• Calibrate and maintain routine lab equipment; prepare standards and solutions.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management; support workload planning with supervisor.
• Be prepared for overtime when required and show punctuality and responsibility.
